Mannheim Baroque Palace
An outing to the largest Baroque palace complex in Germany is always a worthwhile excursion. Mannheim Palace is the radiant centerpiece of the town, and it is home to one of the most beautiful universities in Germany.

Kunsthalle
For more than 100 years, the Kunsthalle art gallery has shaped the cultural life of Mannheim. At a national level too, its collection of important works by artists from Édouard Manet to Francis Bacon and its special emphasis on sculpture make it one of the most renowned municipal collections of international art of the 19th, 20th and 21st centuries. Since it was opened in 1909, it has been dedicated to systematically collecting modern paintings and sculpture.

The National Theater Mannheim is one of the cultural highlights of the region. The four-sector theater puts on performances in the grand operatic tradition as well as inspirational drama, classical and modern ballet, and unique productions of contemporary pieces.

The Reiss Engelhorn Museum Mannheim (rem) has evolved over recent years to become an international player as museum complex, exceptional exhibition location, and distinguished research center. Especially in the fields of archaeology, global culture, and photography, it is among the most important exhibition spaces in Germany and, indeed, Europe.

SAP Arena
The SAP Arena is one of the largest indoor event locations in the South West of Germany, with a capacity of ca. 15,000 spectators. The multifunctional hall is well worth a visit for matches featuring the record-holding resident Mannheim Eagles ice hockey champions or national league handball with the Rhine-Neckar Lions. The Arena is also a venue for shows and concerts by a great many international artists.
